The University of Queensland's History program is the oldest and still the foremost of its kind in Queensland, with the most comprehensive curriculum in the discipline. It has traditional strengths in Australian, American, Asian and European (medieval and modern) history, from undergraduate to PhD level. The discipline is highly internationalised with respect to course content, participation by students in exchange programs, international visitors and international engagement by staff.
Undergraduate students may select courses from an innovative curriculum structured to provide streams within the History major and also to provide an all-round historical education. Research students have a wealth of expertise upon which to draw, and the discipline’s research performance is reflected in strong performance in publications, grants and research higher degree completions.
