Presented by Laurence Browne

Although coming from very different philosophical perspectives in their writings, it is evident that both Heidegger and Jung were strongly influenced in their thinking by the Chinese idea of tao.   How this occurred for both men is explored in this presentation, albeit briefly and inadequately, as is the nature of the tao itself.  Indeed, the tao has such a rich place in Chinese thought and culture, and the depth and breadth of its influence, not only philosophically but also within literature and art, is surely without parallel in the West.
