Researcher biography

Associate Professor Whitehorne's research interests include Greek papyrology and the history and society of Greco-Roman Egypt, ancient Greek comedy, and ancient biography.

Associate Professor Whitehorne holds a BA (Lond), an MA (Br. Col), and a PhD (Lond). He is currently a Reader in Classics and Ancient History and Head of Classics.

He teaches in the areas of History of ancient Egypt, Greek and Latin Literature and drama in translation, and the ancient Greek and Latin languages. His current research involves working with colleagues from Florence and Vienna on editions of Greek papyri in the Czech National Library, Prague.

Associate Professor Whitehorns is secretary of the Australasian Universities Language and Literature Association (AULLA), and is a member of the editorial committee, Bulletin of the American Society of Papyrologists.
