Studies in Religion at UQ is one of only two Australian research bodies within the country dedicated to world-class scholarship in religion and culture. The discipline’s primary research strengths lie in the history of religions, the global impact of both eastern and western religious thought, and analyses of contemporary religious movements. These strengths are associated with staff specialties in the history of religious ideas in South Asian contexts, Christian spirituality and pastoral care, as well as the sociology of religion and science-religion discourse.
